Collection: From Overseas

From Overseas, the ambient project led by musician/composer Kévin Séry, explores beautifully rich sound panoramas through the expressive use of his guitar, complemented by various instruments and looping techniques. Hailing from Reunion Island, a French Overseas Department, Séry routinely bounces between his home island, a small port town on the east coast of the US, and continental Europe- picking up fresh ideas and inspiration along the way.

Séry's musical compositions unfurl compelling textures, weaving a spectrum of contemporary ambient tones seamlessly entwined within meditative sound temperaments. Through the delicate interplay of tape loops, guitar, and expansive waves of multi-dimensional sound, Séry crafts an intimate journey that delves into themes of introspection, nostalgia, and the profound connection between sound and emotion. His works beautifully navigate these universal themes, seamlessly accentuating Sery's inherent melancholic propensities. Séry's distinctive overtures, coupled with his hallmark layering of patient-laden guitar work give rise to an auditory environment with everlasting impressions.

From Overseas released his debut solo album 'Home' in 2020 on Past Inside the Present and has since collaborated with artists such as awakened souls, Tyresta, zakè, 36, Benoît Pioulard, Slow Dancing Society, marine eyes, Chihei Hatakeyama, Hakobune, City of Dawn and more. Kévin Séry is also Label Manager at PITP and an active member of Keep The Orange Sun and Color of Time.
